Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement Division of Planning and Development Department provides enforcement in the City of Newark for:

·         Construction

·         Fire Prevention

·         Maintenance

·         Rental

·         Municipal Code

This is accomplished through the issuance of the various licenses and permits that are required to do work in the City.

Whenever a permit is issued, it is followed up by inspections to see the work is done in a safe manner and complies to all the plans and codes.
